Angela Kyser-Cohen, Founder
Originating from humble beginnings, Angela Kyser-Cohen knows firsthand what life is like in a community where resources are limited. Born in the heart of Fort Worth, this native Texan has risen above the challenges facing our youth to achieve excellence. After graduating from O.D. Wyatt High School in Fort Worth, she went on to achieve excellence at Texas Southern University (TSU) where she majored in Criminal Justice. Angela eventually returned to her hometown of Fort Worth to continue service in public education and to pursue a master’s degree in Educational Counseling. She then obtained a second master’s degree in Educational Administration, earning both from Prairie View A&M University-Dallas. Professionally, Angela serves as a School Counselor at Edward J. Briscoe Elementary School, where she supports students from disadvantaged backgrounds—students who are identified as having come from one-parent households, confined to classes that were designated for “slow learners and low achievers,” and whose household income falls well below U.S. poverty guidelines. Angela is compassionate, caring, engaged, concerned, and committed to the advancement of our youth.
